International Seminar on Sustainable Data for Sustainable Development
UN DESA's Statistics Division and the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) are jointly organizing an International Seminar on "World Statistics: Sustainable Data for Sustainable Development", from 20 to 22 October 2015 in Xi'an, China. The Seminar will deliberate on the new indicators and a monitoring framework for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to mobilize the data revolution for sustainable development.
In addition, an observance event for World Statistics Day 2015 will be held in the morning of October 20, 2015 at the same venue. The occasion of the second World Statistics Day will provide a timely and excellent opportunity for the global statistical community to gather and exchange experiences and discuss critical issues on how to develop an effective monitoring framework to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
