The updated handbook on Indicators for Monitoring the Millennium Development Goals NEW!


The handbook on Indicators for monitoring the MDGs has been updated and now includes complete information on a number of issues pertaining the official MDG indicators, including the indicators added in 2008. The handbook provides information on issues such as concepts, definitions, sources, method of computation, rationale for choosing the indicators, limitations or possible disaggregations. Additionally, it includes direct links to information sources and bibliographical references.

The updated handbook has been put together with the aim of being a tool for national statisticians and researchers to calculate and monitor the Millennium Development Goal Indicators. It also includes information on the methodology used by international agencies to monitor progress towards the MDGs.

The electronic version of the handbook is published on a Wikipedia platform and it will be regularly updated to include new information when it becomes available.
