Description:
Comment on CPC V. 1.0 code 82130
Request
Explanatory note should be simplified. It can probably be described by two broad areas.
Discussion
Australia - Item 4 should result in an exclude with a clarification of where to classify the "drafting of legal documents for patents etc."
RB - They should be classified right here, in code 82130.
Is there a specific reason why these services are listed separately for patents, etc. and then for everything except patents etc.?
Do we need a better description of how these drafting services, etc. are different from those in 82111, 82119 and 82120? It apparently relates to the type of document, but examples would be helpful. In the same context, the description of the type of document seems to be too broad in 82119.
Decision
Change CPC V.1.0 code 82130 to read:
82130 Legal documentation and certification services
This subclass includes:
- advice, representation, drafting and certification of
documents and other related legal services concerning
patents, copyrights and other intellectual property rights
- advice, representation, drafting and certification of
documents and other related legal services concerning other
legal documents, such as wills, marriage contracts,
commercial contracts, business charters, etc.
