Diana Byanjeru

Biography

Diana is head of the Gender and Disability Unit in Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). She leads the implementation of gender, disability and human rights programmes, with dedication to mainstreaming these cross cutting issues in the production and use of the country’s statistics.

Diana has worked with UBOS since 2008. She has worked in the Gender Statistics Unit for 10 years, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit for two years, and Energy and Infrastructure Statistics Unit for three years.

Diana has a Certificate in Gender Statistics under the International Training Programme (ITP) on Gender Statistics, by Statistics Sweden; Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management; Master’s Degree in Economic Policy and Management, and Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics.

Diana is a certified National trainer in Gender and Equity Budgeting, and Uganda’s representative at the Inter Agency Expert Group on Gender Statistics, the Africa Gender Data Network and Washington Group on Disability Statistics.
